ICT
To engage meaningfully in the digital world, and to prepare them for a prosperous future, our children are equipped with 21st Century skills through the Wellesley Prep curriculum. Among these are ‘computational thinking’ skills which comprise algorithmic thinking, evaluation, decomposition, abstraction and generalisation. Together, they aid problem solving and critical thinking which are essential cornerstones in our children’s pursuit of future careers.
In our computer suite, children are equipped with the foundational skills, knowledge and understanding of computing they will need throughout their lifetime. They learn how computers and computer systems work; they design and build programmes, develop their ideas using technology, and create a range of digital content.
Our digital assets range from iPads, Surface Gos, Interactive Whiteboards, Lego Spike kits and Makey Makeys to name a few. These resources ensure that ICT can be effectively deployed as a learning tool throughout the curriculum. We aspire for our children to use and apply IT skills to support, facilitate and extend their learning confidently and independently. Our aim is to develop a culture where the use of ICT is purposeful, strategic, and engaging for our children, thus ensuring they are ready and able to embrace technological advances in their future endeavours.
